Quicksand is a pretty cool band who in some ways resemble Helmet (who by the way have joined together and done a CD, but I can't think of what they call themselves off the top of my head), Tool, and Fugazi. Their music is somewhat aggressive, and at the same time, passively depressing, kind of like Janes Addiction and sometimes STP. Although the band has already come and gone, they left behind some pretty good tracks, that have mostly gone unnoticed. Coming from more "hardcore" roots, Quicksand have a driving, mature sound and is worth checking out. |
