U2 - War - 00:00 - 19

Under a blood sausage pie, I want to pee on you, pee on you, night and day

Ultra Magnetic MCs - The Four Horsemen - 51:32 - 1993

I got this thing about a million years ago (or 7), when I was heavy into rap. At the time, there was so much competition, that the subdued, low impact nature of the Ultra Mags didn't grab my attention, and it got shelved. (Plus the song that I really wanted to hear wasn't on this one - don't you hate it when that happens) When it's time came to be reviewed, I found myself enjoying it a little more than I expected. I think it's mostly due to the fact that I have lost touch with rap, and it seems kind of new to me now. The flow is there, and is pretty much the reason I got this in the first place, but there's not enough variation, and there are so many better CD's out there. (note the reference to Herman's Head)

Ultraviolence - Killing God - 47:37 - 1998

The one hit, or rather one beat, wonder Johnny Violent is back again under a new facade, for what reason I don't know, but that's neither here nor there. Thankfully, he has eased up on that god forsaken beat somewhat, which makes it much more paletable, and less prone to inducing migranes. Other than that, it's pretty much businessas usual with his strange mix of eairly 90's rave, with an industrial/breakbeat twist. (dubbed as Hardcore Techno) Mr. V. always likes to throw in wacky covers, and this one includes the strangest version of "Paranoid" you are likely to ever hear.

The Urge - Master of Styles - 42:19 - 1998

The Urge have been around forever - where I don't know, but I'm hooked now. I almost feel guilty for liking something that's so catchy, but this power ska outfit is really good. Unlike the flood of neoska bands that have poured out lately, The Urge do their own thng which tastefully borrows from the past, and blends with the present. You can hear a influences like Fishbone, and Living Color in these guys, and there's even a tribute to the holyest of Jah warriors, Bad Brains. Urge gracefully tempts the edge of radio savyness, but beguiles it with frenetic gitaur work.
